Joplin, Missouri was the quintessential boom town. In just a few short years it went from a Ozark wilderness to one of the wealthiest and most vibrant communities in the midwest. It had operas, mansions, trolleys and parks - it was literally the place people went to for vacation. By the early 1900's Joplin's lead and zinc mining produced more millionaires per capita than anywhere in the USA. When the mines crashed in many ways so did Joplin.

That boom town era left us who live and work in Joplin today a legacy. A legacy of wonderful buildings, lives lived and fortunes made and lost. Their story is written in the buildings of this town. Too many of these beautiful buildings have been needlessly destroyed to make way for lesser projects. Those buildings that are left to us are often in need of restoration and reuse. That's where we at Quartersawn Properties LLC come in. we are a restoration/renovation company that loves Joplin and its old buildings. We specialize in putting them back to modern use by restoring them to the highest standards. We do our best to keep the original theme and architectural detail in each building we work on, while modernizing it to current standards. We simply seek to restore a building to a standard its original builders would approve of. We only work on what we own so if you see it on this site it is for sale or soon will be.

This site is here to educate, motivate and encourage people to consider historic Joplin as a place to invest in for residence or business. Joplin's downtown is being rediscovered and it shows from new street lights, a trolley, to massive renovation and restoration projects throughout the district. Investing in Historic Joplin remains a very cost effective way to put your home or business in a spacious and gracious state.
